We are pleased to once again offer an Honor Symphonic Band, and due to the tremendous success of last year’s group, an Honor Jazz Band. Students will have the opportunity to participate in either the Honor Symphonic Band or the Honor Jazz Band.

Dedicated high school musicians from throughout the region are invited to participate in two days of wonderful music-making as part of Georgia State University’s 2009 High School Honor Bands!

Participants will:

• Rehearse challenging repertoire under the direction of Dr. Robert Ambrose (Symphonic) or Dr. Gordon Vernick (Jazz)
• Participate in masterclasses with Georgia State University performance faculty
• Interact with Georgia State University School of Music students
• Perform in concert at the Rialto Center for the Arts

Teachers, parents, family and friends are invited to attend this free, public concert.

Participation fee is $60 per student.
